Full Dependence on God alone

Jesus replied, “You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.” (John 13:7)

Why is this happening to me? Is God punishing me for some reason? These questions always seem to come up whenever a roadblock appears in my life. It used to be difficult believing God always stood by my side when it seemed like nothing was ever going my way. I used to be frustrated and angry with God when things didn’t work in my favor.

I stumbled across a quote on social media one day that changed my outlook on approaching God and my negative circumstances.

Put all your trust in God and never let go.

I follow Christian accounts on my social media pages, so seeing quotes/bible verses like this was a common occurrence. But for whatever reason, this one hit home. This could be due to all the stressors I am currently facing or rather just because it’s an interesting quote in itself. This quote asks us to fully trust God’s plan when roadblocks and trials pop up in our lives, and to continue to stay faithful no matter what. I’m not saying it’s easy, but it’s comforting to know that regardless of the circumstances, God always has my back as well as yours. This has allowed me to not worry about anything going on in my life because I know everything will always get better in God’s time, not my own. We may not know why negative/bad events occur, but I believe it’s God’s way to: 1. Make us stronger individuals and 2. Bring us closer to Him.

I want to encourage whoever else going through something to keep pressing on and trusting God’s plan for you. Stay the path and you’ll eventually reap the blessings and rewards God promises to his faithful followers. He is always there with you and for you.

Psalm 16:8 – “I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”
